You are getting used to it.
The monsters really aren't that scary.

So you should be least afraid of Minecraft, more animation is no longer possible… You get used to it, then your "fear" of the monsters goes away
At the beginning I also had it, but it's a matter of habit. The more you play it, the less fear you have of them. In an emergency, put an iron golem or snowman and you won't feel completely unsafe.
At some point you get bored of the monsters there so you have to access the harder monster modpacks.

Change the difficulty from normal to easy, then you will not spawn so bad.
If you illuminate everything well, not that many will come.
Mine / hoe / work during the day and sleep at night.
Turn up the sound then you can hear them from afar on the sounds.

PS: The monsters are not very creepy and you can also customize them if you want e.g. Skeletons are pink.
Simply light up your area with torches and nothing will spawn.
