I bought the minecraft java edition and unfortunately I do not own more than an old aspire 2000 with windows xp.

when I started the game was there the nachicht that the game can't be started.

can one possibly give me an older 32 bit version?

Fe

Well. Of course, there's not much that can be done, because only the age-old beta versions can run on XP. In addition, the ancient Pentium Minecraft can hardly handle. Here is probably only a new purchase what (apart from the fact that you really should not use XP anymore).

Can you download this beta version for download?

Fe

You should find them in the launcher. But seriously: Not even my Retrogaming PC with extremely strong Nvidia card gets Minecraft.

Ic

The launcher does not work on xD

Ic

Do not you have a slightly older launcher?

Fe

Then look for an old version of the launcher. I think there's not even any for XP… That's just too old. It will also not run 100% because this laptop is already overwhelmed with Firefox. The maximum you can get maybe 1-5 fps, but the hardware is really complete for the ton. You can't avoid a new PC.

I have a solution: Since Minecraft is also available for Linux, I would install a Linux distro on the Aspire 2000. For example, Bodhi Linux. This is based on Ubuntu and runs even faster than Windows XP. Here is the download of the ISO: http://sourceforge.net/...o/download This is the current 32bit version.

After the download just flick the ISO with this tool https://unetbootin.github.io/ on an empty FAT32 formatted stick. Now you have a bootable stick. If you can't boot from USB, there's a solution for that as well: the Plop Boot Manager. This is a boot CD containing a USB bootloader. Download here: https://download.plop.at/files/bootmngr/plpbt-5.0.15.zip Unpack the Zip and then burn the plpbt.iso to a blank CD with this tool http://www.freeisoburner.com/.

Plug in the stick, insert the burned CD and turn on the computer. Now just boot from the CD. After a short time the Plop Bootloader appears. Select USB there. Then the stick is booted.

After a while the desktop appears. Here is an explanatory video how to install it:

During installation, the Internet will be set up automatically.

After completing the installation and the first reboot, you go to the terminal and enter the following commands and complete with Enter:

sudo apt update -y
sudo apt upgrade -y
sudo apt install gdebi -y
sudo apt install vlc -y

This will update the system. It may be that a dialog appears where you have to set up the keyboard layout again. Simply choose German. Then reboot. This can also be done via the terminal by entering sudo reboot. The update can also be completely automated with unattended-upgrades so that it runs in the background.

Now go back to the terminal and enter the following and complete with Enter:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa: ubuntu-mozilla-security / ppa
sudo apt update -y
sudo apt install firefox -y

Now they have the latest Firefox.

Here a youtube downloader and converter:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa: clipgrab-team / ppa
sudo apt upgrade -y
sudo apt install clipgrab -y

Install the Flashplayer only if you absolutely need it.

sudo apt install flashplugin-installer

This installs a script that automatically downloads and installs the latest Flashplayer from the Adobe page.

Discord is also available for Linux. Download here: https://discordapp.com/api/download?platform=linux&format=deb You will receive a DEB file. These are installation packages that can be easily installed by double-clicking.

Just like Minecraft: https://launcher.mojang.com/...ecraft.deb Is also installed with a double-click. If Java is not already installed, it will be automatically installed.

Bodhi Linux goes off like a rocket and scarcely scratching on the system resources. Windows XP, on the other hand, is a lame duck.
