I own a PC for a few months now, before that I owned a laptop. I downloaded Minecraft on my laptop because I wanted to take the laptop to a colleague and play it with him there. At first, everything ran smoothly with 60 FPS and a constant CPU utilization of 50% -60%. For a few days, however, Minecraft is unplayable. It shows me in F3 Tab 1 FPS. In the Task Manager I also see that Minecraft uses very little, not much of the memory. Does anyone have a solution, why Minecraft uses so little CPU and RAM? I've heard that JVM arguments can do magic, but I do not dare to do that before I break something.
Even in the Minecraft installer, when I press Repair, and it's done, there are no changes. Reinstalling Minecraft did not do anything positive either.
I would recommend assigning Minecraft more RAM. Standard are 1GB Ram which is almost unplayable with me. With the JVM arguments right at the beginning "1GB" or "1G" would simply increase something. I would recommend 3GB Ram.
