Minecraft: boxes + SHIFT?

I bought a new monitor and want to play Minecraft on it, but I have a few problems.

I open a box as normal and want to get everything out quickly by simply SHIFT and clicking. Then nothing happens so I have to pull everything into my inventory and I don't have time for that. It is exactly the same when I want to work something in the workbench, but it is very strange all the time, I have to pull everything and can't distribute it in the crafting table as normal.
