Does it work or are there disadvantages?
Have 32, if you don't need it you can do it without any disadvantages!
: D
Yes, calm down, but above all it is important to have a lot of RAM and a good CPU in general, assigning this Ram has never brought me much.
With 64 bit Java (which I assume you have) Then you can allocate 4+ GB RAM. How far it has any use remains to be seen. So your 16 GB is clearly possible.
With 32 bit Java max. 4 GB RAM
My experience: Minecraft with shader uses between 4 and 6 GB RAM depending on the shader; Modded Minecraft has already eaten 11-12 GB in my endgame, but where the render area was full of modded stuff. With a 128 resource pack you can always expect ~ +2 GB
Vanilla Minecraft without RP / Mods / Shader 4 GB
So that you have an idea whether 16 GB RAM is necessary.
Have a ryzen 7 3800 and a 2070 Super OC.
Yes, this only affects me peripherally.
As far as I know, you can only allocate a maximum of 12 GB. 16 GB is not possible.
Never allocate more than 5-6 GB. Java has a so-called "garbage collector", which deletes the unnecessary files in the working memory. However, if you allocate too much RAM, this garbage collector will have to scan all your RAM for garbage, and this will take time. The game is slowed down. And besides, no one needs 16 GB to play Minecraft smoothly.
This is bad:/
I just wanted to know if my cpu / gpu is strong enough, you don't have to care.
You wanted to show off. Be honest… Looks pretty good, but you can always do better. Personally, I'm more of an Intel fan and I don't know a lot about AMD.
I really didn't want to show off xD but "only" costs "1500 euro", most of them have a 2000 euro PC anyway, which I could never keep up with… But with my PC you can play everything in high settings (or at all) for I'm totally satisfied and I do not need anything better. AMD has a better P / L… It always works better, but is it worth it?
