Well, to use a modpack, you would need at least a 4 core processor and a reasonably decent graphics card. If Minecraft is very dear to you without Optifine, you can remove make-up with your modpack.
So you get significantly more fps with Optifine. If you want to do a modpack there are now eg. 100 mods in this strain your PC. This best method is a better graphics card and a new CPU.
You may have too little memory for such a modpack. What are the components of your PC?
