Change Minecraft account from Windows to Linux?

I played Minecraft on my Windows PC for 2 years. Then I switched to Linux at some point and if I now try to register on the Linux device, there's only the option to buy it again. Couldn't you run Minecraft across different devices in the past? Would appreciate a quick reply.

As far as I know, only the possibility to register should NOT be available if you played the Bedrock Edition on Windows. With the Java Edition it should be possible to register. Thanks to the modern UX design, the link or button could be a little unlikely, but it shouldn't be a problem if you bought the Java edition at the time.

Could it be that you accidentally downloaded the demo version? May be that you can't log in there. For a while there was a demo version that was very limited.

Does it make a difference whether i paid or used a code?

Ne had the right paid by code could install on server mods was not a demo
