My Optifine from 1.16.5 does not open?

I want to play Minecraft Optifine with Shader like my friends, but it won't work. I have already tried many options from the Internet and none of them worked. Who has an answer to my question?

I've tried many options on the Internet and none of them worked

And should we guess what you've tried? Should you guess what mistake you may have made? I'll look into the crystal ball… Um. Damn. Is in the dishwasher. Then not…

Yo

Yes i installed optifine normally and it did not open. I've already tried to open it via cmd and asked about a start

El

Either you have already installed Optifine, then you have a profile in the Minecraft launcher with which you can start the Optifine version (select if necessary) or Optifine.jar does not open. Then Java may have to be installed, also the correct version… Or the Optifine.jar via "open with" and then navigate to Javaw.exe and open it. And if you use Forge, just copy it into the MOD directory…

Yo

Yes i have java in the correct version and already opened with i did everything correctly only if i then open it comes 1 sec and then it is gone I have 2 suspicions that it may be with labymod or that the virus protection won't let me open because of java?

El

So I haven't had any problems with virus protection. I don't have Labymod. I have nothing to say. But I mean that you have to start the vanilla version in the launcher at least once… The installer is only for the vanilla launcher, so that a Forge-independent profile is created… Is Labymod already running on or with Forge? If you already have a mods folder there, you can only copy Optifine into it and not install it…

Yo

So I don't have a mod folder when I roaming with% appdata% and then go to Minecarft. Can you create that? So I have Labymod on 1.8.9.

El

I have no experience with Labymod how it installs or starts and what is possible or necessary… Forge creates the folder… Is Labymod its own launcher? Creating the folder is useless. Because there's no loader accessing it…

Otherwise you have to google what stands for Labymod and Optifine… I never had to deal with Labymod…

Yo

Yes Labymod has its own launcher. On the virus protection I googled it can't be. I no longer have a plan of what it could be and now I can't imagine that it can be due to Labymod. D

El

According to the Labymod website, you can install and use in-game extensions directly. Among other things also Optifine, without further adjustments…

Yo

Yes then I can play in 1.8 but if Labymod would go in 1.16 I would do it that way. Thanks anyway. Do you have any tips for me because ("all") tips and tricks that I found on the internet didn't work, so the ones in cmd.

El

I can only list the basic variant again… I can't think of more…

Start and exit the desired version in the launcher
Java8 64bit must be installed
Download the appropriate version of Optifine
Double click on the Optifine.jar for the version and install it (if necessary right click and "open with" and navigate to the installed Java)
A profile with the version and Optifine should appear in the laucher…

I'll try what happens to me…

El

So I've just downloaded the Optifine 1.16.5 G6. When I double-click it, the setup window starts… Told me that I have to install 1.16.5 first (i.e. Start it at least once) … Then I was able to install without any problems and when restarting the launcher I had the 1.16.5 Optifine to choose from…

Yo

Yes i currently play in 1.16.5 and for me the file is called like this: OptiFine_1.16.4_HD_U_G6. If I double click nothing happens to me.

El

Yes, I have that too. Saved me in the meantime… Java in version 8 as 64bit is also installed and the .jar also has the Java symbol?

Yo

Yes she previously had an opera symbol but i have already solved the problem. Could it be that I installed it as 32bit, because I also have 64.

El

If you both have Java skills, that can be. The 64bit Java is in the directory:

C: \ Program Files \ Java \ jre1.8.0_261 \ bin \ javaw.exe

Appropriate version, of course, as a subfolder…

32bit is instead of Program Files at the beginning "Program files (x86)"

(The "Programs" or "Programs (x86)" folder is usually displayed in the Winfolder… But this is the path mentioned above)

Try both if you can do both… One of them should work.

Yo

When I go to C: \ Program Files \ Java the folder is empty, but I actually installed the correct Java version. Can you explain that more simply? Would be nice.

El

Simply download the java 8 64bit offline again and reinstall it / add it… By default you only get the 32bit online installer. You have to search for and install the 64bit separately…

Yo

Ah ok thank you I'll give it a try when I'm done, I'll get in touch again.

Yo

So I have installed it now, but how does it go on now.

so it is called: jre-8u281-windows-x64

El

Install these… When that's done, you should also have the 64 version of Java in the program data / java. Then "open with" your optifine * .jar and specify the path…

El

The folder is called either "/ Programs / java" or "/ Program data / java"…

No Data folder in the Programs folder…

Yo

When I go to the hard drive C: I'm shown a lot of things with Java. B. AppCrash_javaw.exe_317ae5e9a72ae7bfe29e38df0ad9e3262b7f4_e358b7af_26835b61… And many more (5 pieces)

El

Looks like crash reports… Either your Optifine was downloaded incorrectly, or Java was not installed correctly / incorrect version… I don't know. I can't even look at what you're doing… Sorry… I have to pass now, then I don't know what to do next… I always did it as described above… If that doesn't work, ka… For me it's always like this…

Yo

One last question what can you do against crash reports but thanks anyway. Does it help if I uninstall all java things in the folder and reinstall java correctly?

El

Crash reports are created by Java if an error occurred during execution. The crash report also contains the cause, if you can read it and do something with Java… But I'm out of there… I don't know my way around… Could possibly work. But it's not a guarantee… Since I don't know why it doesn't work… I've never had problems with that… Unfortunately, I can only tell you how it should go…

Yo

I did it
