Presumably you downloaded the version for your own server creation with Forge. If possible, delete that, so you only have the 1.14.4 in the launcher.

In order to be able to play on online servers with other versions you have to create further profiles.

Procedure: Open the launcher with a click on the green item, which should be the link to your desktop.

In the upper area is then installations. Click on it.

In the window is now only your 1.14.4 profile. Above, the 1st tab is called "new". Next to it is full version, developer version and Histrorisch. Put a tick on Historical.

Then click on "new".

In this window, you must first enter a name for the version, e.g. Your player name and the desired version (hansmeier 1.7.10)

Underneath, you can now select the version you want to play.

Must scroll and select the release 1.7.10.

Leave everything else as it is and click on create.

Now you will see your 2 versions in the new window.

Now you click on "play" and select in the gray box, below, the version you want to play and click on play.
