I would like to learn more about Minecraft Packets sent from the client to the server. I'm particularly interested in how I can intercept, edit and send them before they are sent to the server, or how I can send my own wrong packets directly.
I would also like to know if you could do it in a mod.

I don't know if that works, but maybe you can download a simple cheat like e.g. Sausage and see what happens there maybe you understand what the code is doing and then you change it a little etc. A hack client would be the best example of a clientside packet change right now
