Your laptop has to be very good when it creates just 20 FPS on Minecraft.
You can give Minecraft more RAM,
reduce the graphics settings (also the Render Distance)
and especially… You can use Optifine to use all processor cores.
That should increase the FPS
Yes, your laptop can be really bad, because normal laptops are not meant for gaming.
What you may not want is the Optifine. Because with Optifine gets at least a little bit more FPS.
Even my old Windows XP Toshiba laptop I get the super flat about 30 to 40 FPS.
