Improve FPS by what first?

I'm playing CoD warzone escape from tarkov and other titles on the PC. I can play most of the titles in full settings and have 80fps or significantly more like 400fps in Minecraft, which doesn't work anyway because my monitor only has 80hz which is enough for me.

Every now and then the frames drop in e.g. Warzone up to the 50fps area and depending on where on the map, I drag myself through the area with 50-65fps. It makes little difference to set the graphics to low. I know that the game is badly optimized because 100fps were still there at the release. Now to my question. What should I upgrade first?

My PC:

-mainboard is the Asus Prime a320k

-cpu is an AMD ryzen 3 2300x 4-core with 4ghz turbo clock

-graka is an Nvidia GTX 1660 from Asus

-2 times 4gb ddr4 RAM

- a 512GB SSD from Samsung

PS: the wallet has a lot of holes so there's not so much to spend in it.

16Gb 3200 Ram + better graphics card should bring something

Pl

Mainboard and CPU… The GPU is very good. And at least 16gb ram 3200mhz. Ram is cheap, you can get that first. Mainboard and CPU are the ones that would bring you the performance now, but I think you don't have enough money for that.

da

Not the cpu? Because the graka "only" runs at 75% utilization. The cpu at over 90%

Pl

The gpu is completely sufficient, it is probably limited by the cpu and the CPU is probably limited by the RAM.

da

Oke and just the cpu wouldn't change anything?

Pl

The socket is already older… It wouldn't be particularly worthwhile to put a new CPU on it. But there would still be a 2700x in it, which is about the same as the 3600, but if it is more than the 2700x, a new mainboard should be found.

Then maybe. But first try only with a ram upgrade…

Pl

Yes that anyway. Maybe the ram alone regulates the problem. It is possible but unlikely.
