Why do I always get exactly 144 fps in Minecraft?

I have a 144hz monitor and my hardware should be enough for more fps. Is the game locked somewhere or something because more fps would not be bad.

You have to disable Vsync

I had the same problem with fortnite. Reset all settings and uninstall all mods and texturepacks.

Maybe you accidentally chose a maximum FPS number in the settings (in Minecraft, of course).

And uhm, 140 FPS is not a number to complain about now.

Em that will be of no use to you your screen only grabs the 144fps and no more.
