I have Manjaro Linux and whenever I play Minecraft, for example, my CPU is only 40% busy. My ram and my GPU are definitely not a bottleneck. I only have 50fps, but I would like to have around 80fps. In the System Monitor I have already set the priority to the maximum and I have not set any FPS limit in Minecraft or anywhere else. How can I ensure that my CPU is used 100%?
If it were AMD I would have said overclocking but KP with Linux
How do you know that i don't have amd?
Just look under settings and system info
What should I look there?
You can overclock the individual components, if it is an AMD CPU
*Graphic card
Yes but what does that bring me? I want my cpu to work 100% and I don't want to overclock
You shouldn't use the CPU 100%, it's unhealthy for the computer, when overclocking you get FPS and it works if the computer has good fans
Then I want to use the cpu to at least 80% and I still don't want to overclock.
Energy management on top performance
Your CPU is very likely to have multiple cores. Take a look at the utilization per core.
Minecraft has the problem that it is mostly single threaded. So it only uses one core. So the overall utilization is low because only one core actually works, which is then at 100%.
Sometimes you can improve it a bit with mods like Optifine.
All cores are equally utilized
I don't play Minecraft, but I don't understand why you want to use your CPU to 100%.
When I play, the CPU is rarely under full load. Mostly, depending on the game, the average occupancy is 60% to 70%.
Often times, gaming performance problems are also due to the GPU. What hardware do you use and at what resolution and at what refresh rate do you play?
