Microsoft account for minecraft?

I have a Microsoft store account because I got something there. Now i want minecraft java on mojang. Get com. It says create a mojang account. But I already have a minecraft store account. I entered that, register with and it took it. That means I apparently already have a Microsoft account. Now my question: Since I have a Microsoft account, do I also need a mojang account?
