2 days ago I rented a VPS from Host-Unlimeted. The vServer has a network connection of 500 Mbp / s and the Internet is as promised 500Mbp / s fast download and upload, but strangely enough, the server often times out for a few seconds.
The problem is as follows: I and a buddy wanted to open a Minecraft server, the vServer has enough RAM (20GB) enough mass storage (HDD, 300GB) and 6 virtual CPU cores.
The aforementioned Minecraft server, a Teamspeak 3 server and an Internet site with an SSL certificate have just been installed on the vServer.
And the problem now is that the vServer always stops for a time of 1-2 seconds and that the players are then thrown from the Minecraft server, Teamspeak server and that the Internet site is not accessible for a short time.
We reinstalled the server several times and also timed the SSH connection off without anything, which means that the problem is not our fault, since the SSH connection is also broken without any applications being installed on the vServer.
Has anyone had a similar experience and can help us?
Host unlimited is not the best hoster… You have to be honest
Which operating system have you installed on your server? And how did you set up the Minecraft server and the SSL certificate? More information is helpful.
With Minecraft I can already say:
4 cores and 16 GB of RAM would have been enough for what you have planned.
Thanks for the answer, we installed the SSL certificate via Certbot (free SSL certificate), we use Apache2 as a web application, the operating system is currently Ubuntu 20, but we have already tested with Debian 10, Debian 9, Ubuntu 18.04.
This is what Host-Unlimited stands for with its name. Fun at the side is with me too and also. Support thinks it's up to me and I should set up the server again, which, however, did not help
I've scolded this hoster so often - I don't think I'm allowed to do that anymore…
ask the support of your hoster, as they always do, they have to know their way around perfectly…
otherwise - cancel the contract and rent somewhere else - all are better…
I don't see any fun or joke in your statement…
The problem is I've actually already made provisions for 3 months and charged 50 euro you can get it again don't think so?
They say to me and then be thirty and close the ticket so I can't think of anything more
You can withdraw your consent within 14 days. Not later…
Only a revocation will bring your money back…
