Minecraft (no food, blocks put possible)?

Have a Mac and I have bought new Minecraft. When I was able to play, it was all good. I can dismantle bucks. When I was hungry then I noticed when I make right click that I can't eat. I can't put blocks either. (My control is adjusted correctly so it is not on the controller)

(It's not the server either, I'm in survival mode and I'm hungry.)

(No real beginner, have experience)

I would be very happy about an answer!
