Minecraft loading bar?

I bought Minecraft today but when I start it a loading bar comes up and it only fills up three quarters and then that's it. Can anyone help me?

When I click on Play in the Launcher, a red menu appears where Mojang is and in the menu there's a loading bar that only loads three quarters to the end for me

Maybe it's because you're not giving the version enough RAM. However, telling you how to add more RAM to a version is tricky. Just google that.
