Minecraft ice biome?

I created a new world and ended up on an island a good distance away from the mainland with a beautiful village. But in between there's an ice biome, which in my opinion spoils the beautiful Siecht. What's the easiest way to break it down?

TNT, lava etc?

Effi pickaxe in my opinion, if you want the blocks then take care on them

So first of all I think such an ice biome is beautiful but that is now irrelevant I would do it with a good slide pick or with TnT.
