Ideas for minecraft multiplayer world?

I want to make a normal vanilla world, creative or survive doesn't matter. Something that doesn't get boring so quickly, with something like a city, I somehow often lose motivation to survive with vanilla only if the right people are there. Can you suggest something please? How about everyone building their city and every week (or other period) everyone has to build a building, the other players vote from 0-10. The points are made up of innovation and how beautiful it is. The first thing you can do is build a town hall or something with the total number of points.
