I assembled a new PC myself last week with a Ryzen 5 1600 and a RX 580. This should be used, for example. In a standard Minecraft world have around 700 FPS. However, my video card is bored and spits out only 150 fps and that's not much more than my old laptop. It is on average at 15% utilization and not overclocked. V sync is off and FPS limitation. What can I do against it?
Minecraft is poorly optimized. That's the way it is, and it will stay that way forever!
I also have a 1600 and a 1050ti. I can always check, but always the Graka is never fully utilized. Except for shaders, if I remember rightly. You can't do anything about it. Honestly, why do you want 700 FPS? Do a normal benchmark and show the other people if you want to specify. I hope you did not buy the calculator for Minecraft.
Minecraft also needs * better * a good single-core performance. You do not have these in contrast to the Intel competitors here. Is just more of a multicore processor.
That probably depends on the power management of the video card driver.
If the driver detects that more FPS is not needed then the power consumption will be throttled down!
If the power is needed, it will be used automatically!
But just the RX 580 would then go to maximum power, which unnecessarily consumes electricity and heat produced, which must be cooled down again!
And that's not a small thing with the RX 580!
So what do you need 700 FPS for?
Why are not you 150 FPS enough?
Is it worth your while to spend more on electricity and then shorten the lifetime of your PC components, even if that happens only slightly?
Think about it.
No, I was just surprised, because my friend had with the Gtx 1060 700 FPS and these are two pretty much the same graphics cards. But thanks!
