Hi, I'm about to download Minecraft to my laptop, I already have it on my phone. My friend told me that she transferred her Minecraft save to another device completely free of charge. Is that possible by creating a Microsoft account? If so - how do I create it? There was often a message asking if I would like to create a Microsoft account, but I always clicked it away and now it no longer comes. Can someone help me please?

Yes, with Java I don't know because I only play Java on 1 PC, but with Badrock (that's the version that is on mobile devices and consoles) you just have to create an xBox gaming acc and log in on another device. (To create one for mobile and console you have to click on the box in the left corner and then click on the link that is displayed to you and enter the code and your e-mail address.
