Little FPS in Minecraft despite strong hardware?

I have had a new PC with the following main specs for a long time:

AMD RX 5700 / Ryzen 5 2600x / 16GB RAM 3200er

Everything works and has the latest drivers.

My problem now is that I often hear that friends sometimes have 1000 FPS + and then I wonder why I often do not get over 150-200 or with simple things under 100 droppe. If I just look up at the sky I get 800, but that's not the point.

The dropps are annoying precisely because I use a 144hz monitor. You just notice that more than when you play at 60hz, I think.

I use the Badlion client with Optifine installed and have assigned Minecraft 4GB RAM.

What I have been able to pull off the net so far is that Minecraft should run better on nvidia cards, although I don't know how far you can believe it. In addition, Minecraft should probably not support multi core, which of course is not optimal with such a CPU. I do not know whether Optifine counteracts this or whether there's a setting for it.

I also installed Java today because I didn't have it before, but Minecraft shows another version that is installed. No idea whether the version makes a difference again.

GPU and CPU utilization not over 20-30% and RAM also not over 45%.

I have not yet observed this with the individual cores because I did not consider it necessary yet, because I could see from the network anyway that not all of them would be utilized.

I still can't imagine that you have so little FPS with such a setup.

I don't play Minecraft too often anymore and it doesn't bother me that much, but if there was a simple fix, it would of course also be cool

So if there's just a simple setting or something like it with it.

If you can only confirm what I also know and there's basically nothing you can do except overclock or something, then it is perfectly fine. Then I can live very well with it!

I also play with 8 loaded chunks and of course the FPS on unlimited.

ka

From 60fps on you don't notice a difference😉

Oh yes, at people who told me that, I didn't believe it at first…

Then they showed me…

… You also looked up to the sky🙄

I'm not sure if you have read the entire article but you can tell when you are used to 144hz and also have these FPS 95% of the time and then dropps come or you are used to these FPS from other games. I don't know if you have a 144hz monitor but you can definitely tell.

More RAM with 4GB doesn't get far.

As long as you have over 144fps it makes no difference anyway, only when it goes down you will notice it. So I would definitely cut the fps to 144 (high fps can provide strong input lag). In addition, 20-30% utilization at the gpu is really extremely little, but as far as I know, this can't be changed. And definitely get a badlion client, there you can also adjust some settings for more fps.

Interesting that you are a professional in the field and know things that NO ONE was able to prove 100% … And the majority of people notice a gigantic difference, if I set my monitor to 60hz I would like to kill myself, that is practically unusable for me.

I know that my post is really long, but I mentioned that I use the Badlion client. It doesn't bother me too much if I have 150-200FPS and the 144hz are sorted out, but sometimes it just annoys me when it comes to simple buildings or maps etc.

Thanks for your nice contribution and nice day!

Bu

It is often used no more than 30%. I only play with Vanilla but it's still worth a try.

pa

Oh, I only read optifine, I probably scanned badlion… You might. Trying to assign more ram, but I don't think that's because. You also have a nice day ^^

I can only agree with nebule1!

I also notice a very strong difference when I set my monitor to 60hz and my eyes are used to 144hz. I can now understand that you don't want to leave 144hz once you have it.

Sn

Nonsense, 4GB are completely sufficient for Vanilla Minecraft.

Lo

The FPS are mainly on the screen. Because of 'Frames Per Second'. So, it's most likely because of the screen…

Ri

I also have a problem I have a good 16 GB RAM graphics card but somehow my processors are somehow always overheated

Hey 60 FPS is enough for Minecraft. Most screens can't even process more than FPS. Nevertheless Minecraft always shows a lot.

Bu

As mentioned above i use a 144hz screen.
