Linux is always an alternative. I only read from your question that you don't seem to be very experienced with Linux. I think Windows is better for you then. Unfortunately, it's still blessed with more compatibility for gaming.

Surviving Mars and Minecraft are available as native Linux games.
Rocket League and League of legends run with Steamplay / Proton as a compatibility tool under Steam for Linux.

You can try Linux. There's PlayOnLinux, SteamOnLinux, Proton from Steam, Wine, … Some things work with them. A friend, for example, probably plays LoL under Linux without any problems, but she is a little afraid of every LoL patch that can break it again.
