I know, I know, this question has surely been asked a thousand times. But I'll put it again because I generally want to understand Minecraft better.
So: I play the game with my Ryzen 5 3600 and a GTX 1660 (now I regret not taking the Super x_x) and I like to play with shaders like BSL, Sildurs Vibrant, etc. And there's my question: how do I get it more FPS, with a high render distance?
Up to now I thought it was due to my graphics card and the slow memory (GDDR5 instead of GDDR6), but I noticed that I don't get that much more FPS by deactivating graphics such as lighting effects, graphics mode, etc., but mainly by reducing the Render Distance. And now to the point: I used to think that Minecraft with shaders would be more GPU-heavy - I don't understand why I get more FPS when I reduce the render distance. Because it's not like a Ryzen 5 isn't powerful enough.
Please do not get the question wrong, I would like to invite you to discuss, because basically I would like to find out a little more about MC in general in connection with hardware. So thanks for all the answers.
Well, when objects that are far away are displayed, a lot more is displayed overall, so a lot more objects. This of course requires more hardware requirements.
But that you need more FPS can't actually be. Surely you have 100 FPS or more, right?
How much FPS do you have?
I have an i5 8400 and a 1060 6GB myself and I even run Seus etc pretty well on high settings.
Minecraft Java is generally extremely CPU-heavy, even with shaders.
How much FPS do you currently have?
Actually, for more FPS, download Optifine and try again with Badlion Client
How much GB of RAM does your PC have?
Depends on many things. In multiplayer (e.g. Minigame server) with 20 chunks it is certainly 90-110 FPS, but in single player the whole thing is lower. I have to go down to 10 chunks to have a constant 60 FPS…
I have 90-110 FPS in multiplayer with 20 chunks, but significantly less in single player (around 60-70) …
SEUS doesn't work with me. I have 30, a maximum of 40 FPS
I have Optifine, otherwise I wouldn't even know how to play without a shader.
Have 16 GB of RAM at 3200 Mhz
I have FPS between 60 and 110 depending on the single or multi player
How much FPS do you have with shaders and how many FPS without shaders?
Ok, so as I said with shader 60-110 and without mostly beyond 500 …
In multiplayer the maximum is 12 chunks, which is why it works so much better there.
But the performance is strange, with me Seus runs with at least 60 FPS.
How much RAM did you allocate to Minecraft?
It is probably due to the Shader xD, but 60-110 FPS are good in themselves
Sure, that works, but at least 144 would be cool because of the monitor. Ok, it can be. Jz will really look at others too. So other shaders
Have MC 7 GB assigned…
If you switch off the FPS display you won't notice any difference between 100 and 144 anyway
That's actually true
