I'm using Windows 10 and lately several things are not opening properly, such as Discord, Minecraft and Wizard101, although they all worked before. The Task Manager says that they are running, but no window opens and nothing is visible in the taskbar. Restarting the PC did not help, nor did reinstalling the program (if this was possible, for example, the installer did not work as usual in Minecraft).

I also had this problem. Then I just installed Linux and blew Windows away.
I've already thought about it, but find Windows better for me. I just got used to Windows and would be reluctant to find myself in a different operating system, especially since many games / programs do not seem to work on Linux (even if I'm not sure). I'm not even sure if that's a problem with Windows at all, it's only with a few programs and only since today.
Try the following: First uninstall the affected programs.
Then start Windows 10 in safe mode with a command prompt. Then enter the following command:
sfc / scannow
This repairs the Windows system files. Then restart.

When you turn on and boot the computer, press F8 immediately (several times if necessary). Then you get into the Windows 10 boot options and you can choose that.
And if a program can't be uninstalled, simply use the Revo Uninstaller: https://www.revouninstaller.com/de/revo-uninstaller-free-download/ The freeware version is sufficient.
