I have a question about Minecraft. I wanted to play with my girlfriend, but I just can't get the newer Minecraft versions (1.16.4) to run smoothly.
It totally jerks and I really don't know what to do next. The problem does not affect all versions. The 1.8 runs without problems but the 1.9.4 no longer works.

I updated Java (version 8 update 271) and I already reinstalled minecraft. Maybe there's someone here who is familiar with it and can help me.
What kind of hardware do you have? Already installed Optifine or tried it with Badlion Client?
Is the hardware correct?
I have an acer aspire v3 with
Intel core i5-4200M
4gb ram
Windows 10
I haven't tried Optifine yet, it might be an idea. I don't know this badlion client. Now, after a few years, I wanted to play again so I'm unfortunately anything but up to date. 😅
