When I play minecraft the fps go down to 50 and with shader to 40fps. Minecraft has 16GB of RAM and the processor and graphics card are underutilized. Why can't I get fps any more?
As far as I know, Minecraft is pretty CPU-heavy thanks to Optifine, for example, the performance is, as far as I know, also carried out via the GPU (graphics card). Thus, a performance improvement should actually then occur. However, everything always depends on your PC components
Sorry if there are any spelling / punctuation errors, it's late.
Optifine is inside. I have the amd ryzen 9 3900x processor and the msi rtx 2070 super graphics card. It shouldn't be that.
I think you can set whether the processor should use multiple cores with optifine.
But I don't know exactly anymore. It took a long time to look into the settings. Maybe it runs on single core
Do you have a shader inside
Yes but not always
Well, but when I look in the task manager, none of the kernels are 100% utilized. So it can't be because of that either. But where can you set that with multi core? Then I could try that.
Basically: Minecraft eats up a lot of performance compared to almost all other games. Is due to Java, the operating system (?) Minecraft runs on.
What you can do (all in the ingame settings): Set an FPS maximum to 120 Fps, for example, so that your entire computer does not become unnecessarily slow; lower the visibility; disable all graphic details if you have Optifine; Shader out; no texture pack
Otherwise you should make sure that you only assign Minecraft a maximum of 50% of your possible RAM value, otherwise the computer will be unnecessarily slow because Minecraft takes all the RAM and uses it while playing.
I have enough RAM anyway. But that's clear that if I turn everything down that I get more fps. But I want to play minecraft nicely and smoothly with shader. It's not like my PC is at its limit. It's more an attitude or Java in general.
Bac or lunar client have fps booster, they can help you ^^
But that must be possible with the normal minecraft client. Speaking of which, I have fabric with all my mods.
With the Mod Optifine (you don't need a forge for this).
Is already inside. But doesn't bring much
