So I know how to play a Minecraft server on Linux MINT, but not how I can manage it with Linux that I can access it from other PCs with a selected free domain…

Need help

Ru

Is the server at home or in a data center?

Ba

Raspberry Pi 4

Ru

Which provider?

Ba

So I host it via localhost on the Raspberry Pi 4 and want to set it up so that it is also public with a port release

Ru

I'm aware. But which internet provider are you at?

Ba

Asoo I'm sorry xD Vodafone._. Since I saw that I can also release ports with this Kinderka ** router

Ru

Do you have an OWN ipv4 address (dual stack)? If so, you only have to forward the Minecraftport (think 25565) in UDP and TCP protocol to your Raspberry. Then you simply have to make an A record with your domain with your public IP. If you don't have the standard port, you have to enter IP: PORT in the record. If necessary, restart your router after port forwarding.

Ba

Um XD how do I forward this to the Raspberry Pi 4 or what is A record? 🤔😆

Ba

Unfortunately, there's no port forwarding or port release with our router… Well great -.

Ru

All good. Then you need a Vserver. Get it for 2.70 euro / month at Netcup. An A record means that if someone enters your domain, your IP will come back as a response. But you will see if you can set up your domain

Set up a dynDNS service on the router. This will give you a subdomain that you can access. Then you have to release the port. With AVM Fritzbox you can get a (admittedly not easily noticeable) domain via the GUI via AVM.

Ba

OK thanks.

You can also create an OpenVPN client on the Vserver and then connect to the client with raspberry PI. Then you can forward the ports to the vserver.
