I have a PC with i5 (Sandy Bridge), 8 GB DDR3 RAM with 1600 MHz and a graphics card with 4 GB DDR5 RAM and yet Minecraft jerks almost constantly, regardless of whether I play Vanilla or with Forge (incl. OptiFine). Unfortunately, it makes no difference if I lower the graphics details, I have already reduced the visibility to 6 chunks. Does anyone have any tips or ideas on what I can do? Everything was smooth on my old PC with Intel DualCore, 4 GB RAM and 1 GB GraKa…
Vsync out. Full screen.
VSync is out, I always play MC in full screen
Maybe add more ram. The ram's clock rate is also very slow
That is only ddr3, it is quite reasonable
I have already assigned MC 3 GB, according to OptiFine max 1 GB is used. The RAM in the old PC was not faster either 🤷🏻♂️
1600 MHz is actually already OC for Sandy Bridge, at that time the non-K Intel processors actually only supported 1333 MHz
Have you ever tried to completely reinstall Minecraft? (So delete the .minecraft folder)
I also had the problem once, it worked for me.
It is also probably because Minecraft is not programmed as optimally and causes problems despite high-end computers. A buddy of mine sometimes had FPS drops despite a 3000 euro calculator. (Has he fixed it now)
You mean the folder under "Appdata"? Is it enough to delete it and then restart the launcher?
What kind of graphics card is it? The amount of memory says nothing about performance at first
The Sapphire R9 290 Vapor-X with 4 GB GDDR5 is installed
Okay, that should be really fast enough haha
Yes, that's enough.
Maybe you want to save your worlds, mods, shaders etc. Beforehand, otherwise it's gone.
I also have another idea before you delete it.
Do you have the latest Java version installed? Check that out. You should also have a look under Programs to see whether Java is installed twice. (Then uninstall the older version)
PS: Make sure that you have Java 64-bit. (Of course, only if your OS is also 64-bit)
@Nevum Java is 64bit and currently 👍🏼
Deleting helped, thanks a lot. It is not completely smooth (yet), but it is so far playable 😁
