So I wanted to ask if you can crossplay for free on Windows 10 Edition, i.e. Play in one world? Or whether you can only play with an online membership?
The Minecraft Bedrock Edition offers crossplay between all current consoles and smartphones and the computer (not Java Edition).
Another "online membership" is not required.
Possibility: You play for free on public servers (Mineplax, The Hive…)
Possibility: You create your own server. Most of them cost something but Aternos is free. There you can also change the software from Java Edition to Windows 10 / Bedrock Edition at any time.
Option: If a friend is in your local home network (WLAN), you can "invite them into the game".
Just as a note; the local home network is a LAN, not a WLAN - even if you connect your console via WLAN.
All use the WLAN nobody any more LAN thank you anyway.
In your household maybe - but not generally. In terms of its name, it is a LAN - even if each individual device is connected via WLAN.
Ok then i know for the future.
