Which monitor would fit?

Helo,

I'm currently in the process of putting together a new setup and now do not know what I should take as the main monitor.

I play shooter, minecraft, but also Forza Horizon 4.

It's a choice between a 144Hz. IPS monitor (https://geizhals.de/aoc-24g2u-bk-a2132452.html?hloc=at&hloc=de) and a 240Hz, TN monitor (https://geizhals.de/acer-kg1-kg251qdbmiipx-um-kx1ee-d01-a1828202.html?hloc=at&hloc=de).

In the PC are a Ryzen 5 3600 and a 2070 Super. I also have an IPS as an overhead, but there could be the problem that the position is not comfortable to gamble on all the time.

What would you take from the two? My budget is enough for both.

Wa

Didn't know that there are still TN panels. They are very dependent on the viewing angle, so I can't recommend them. Always IPS if possible!

an

What is your budget?

If you only have 200 then the Aoc

If you have more then acer 240

Pu

There's more than enough of that.

Wa

Ok, thanks for the info, you never stop learning!

Un

Both fit into my overall budget, I wasn't so sure about the different specs

Un

From the point of view it should fit, currently I have a TN myself, so I know roughly what it looks like

me

I'm currently playing with a 144Hz panel (IPS), but I plan to switch to 240Hz soon. Maybe I was just unlucky, but my LG IPS monitor simply doesn't have good color values and the picture looks extremely damn… Oaths. That does not justify the low update rate, then I would rather take a brisk Montitor.

But that mainly depends on the computing power (should not be a problem for your setup depending on the game) and your interests. I play Apex Legends competitive, so a monitor with significantly more than 144Hz can be worthwhile.

Tr

I would take a 144hz monitor, because in my opinion no 240hz monitor is worthwhile at the moment. You won't have over 200+ FPS in many games anyway.

Pu

TN is really not good. Better buy an IPS.

It's not just about the viewing angles, but also about the colors. Everything looks dark with TN. At IPS everything is beautiful / realistic and also bright or neutral.

Wo

The point of view was a problem then, but nowadays it's not really a big issue anymore.

In addition, there are so many TN panel monitors and many are sold. You probably even have one, but you just don't know it.

Wo

ESL players swear by the TN panel because the "motion blur" on the TN panel is somewhat lower. One recognizes just with fast movements e.g. Font better than the IPS panel.

But if you are not a pro gamer, you can take the IPS panel. The colors are mostly more saturated. With the TN panel, everything looks a little less saturated. But not bad either.

If the Hz is important to you and how you recognize ingame, then the TN panel. If you want to have a nicer picture and you still need 144Hz (the jump from 60Hz to 144Hz is clearly noticeable, but from 144Hz to 240Hz not so blatant anymore. You don't notice as much as from 60hz), then the IPS panel.

Un

I already have an IPS as overhead, but I don't know now whether it is comfortable from the sitting position

Wo

What do you mean by sitting posture?

Un

So the attitude of how I would gamble would be the game on the overhead

Wo

And what do you mean by overhead?

Un

So, I want to have 4 screens on the setup (ik, a bit overkill, but yes…) and I already have the two outer screens, two TN 60Hz. I would like to buy a new main monitor (the one from the survey) and a second one. In the second, I then selected an IP that hangs over my main monitor. And around this upper one I mean overhead

Wo

Apex Legends is lured to 144Hz. Yes ok i know you can handle it

Wo

Why not ultra-wide? (for the 60Hz monitors)

Un

As overhead? If so, then too expensive

Wo

I personally find an IPS more beautiful. Have a TN monitor and IPS on my laptop. Would always tend to IPS, but everyone has their own taste. I like e.g. Dear monitors with a smooth surface and not matt.

Wo

Ok yes bissl overkill. Maybe I would recommend an IPS there because of the angles. Depends on the angle. If you have to really look up, then IPS, otherwise

Un

I mean, i could just align the bracket perfectly, but i don't know. Just want to be as cheap as possible, still build a double setup for me xD

Wo

But why use the beautiful 144Hz monitor as overhead? The screen above is less used than the one next to it. I'd rather hang up one of the 60Hz monitors

Un

No, I use the 144 / 240Hz as the main in the middle, then already existing 60Hz TN monitors on the left and right and then as overhead I want to buy a 60Hz IPS. And that's where the thought went. Shooter on the 240Hz TN monitor in the middle and then OWG or story games on the overhead, a 60Hz IPS, because they are more concerned with graphics than FPS

me

Yes ok i know you can handle it

OK. Lol

Good monitor at about 150Euro? Dr DrearySharon29
