Minecraft blocks disappear after putting?

In single-player mode (version 1.13.2) blocks are disappearing regularly. For example, if I want to put wooden boards on the ground, the block just disappears and I have one less in the inventory. The same with obsidian. But if I want to put earth on earth, it works. Why any ideas why that is and how to fix it?

Could be a Java error. An incorrectly installed or old plugin.
