Why does microsoft account prevent multiplayer in Minecraft?

I bought minecraft yesterday and wanted to play multiplayer straight away, but this is not possible due to some setting. Does anyone know what attitude that is? Can someone help me there?

You have to sign in with a Microsoft account to unlock achievements and multiplayer (LAN multiplayer still works).

If you have signed up anyway, it may be. A child safety function active (on your Microsoft account) that switches off multiplayer mode.
