Use VSync or limit FPS to 75?

I'm playing Minecraft and I'm using a 75 Hz monitor. Does it make a difference whether I activate VSync in the settings or limit the FPS to 75?

If you have a 75 Hz = Hertz monitor then limit the FPS number to 75 Hz.

I don't know why the others write so nonsense. Vsync ensures that your monitor is waiting for the picture of the GPU. If it doesn't, there's tearing.
